Perennial grass-like forb to 75cm tall, the leaves annual. Leaves succulent, clustered at the base of the plant, 4.5-48cm long, to 8mm wide, hairless, channelled. Flowers often fragrant. Flowers yellow, with 6 'petals', in racemes of up to 50 flowers on a flowering stem arising from the base of the plant. Family Liliaceae in SA.
Differs from Bulbine alata and Bulbine semibarbata in that the flowers are much larger ('petals' 9-22mm long), and the filaments of all six stamens are the same length.
